Personal Injury Marketing Advisory
You’d never try an injury case without experts. Stop marketing without them.
We are to your personal injury firm, what you are to your clients.
The problem
You already know this story. You’ve told it to thousands of clients across a conference room table. Column two is for you.
Every vendor sending you a pitch knows exactly two things about your firm, you have deep pockets, and nobody guarding them. That is their entire business model.
The solution
Your client’s answer to that problem is already well established. It’s you.
Your client hires
You.
Your firm hires
blackletter.
For the same three reasons, in both directions:
Knows the system
Not from the outside looking in. From years spent on the other side of the table, watching how the money actually gets treated.
Paid by you. Only you.
We don't take a dollar from anyone we recommend to you. Your check is the only one we cash. That's what makes the advice worth taking.
Free to say it
Including the part you don't want to hear. An advisor who only agrees with you isn't worth paying.
That is what an advisor does. Your clients have one. Your firm doesn’t.
What we do
You don’t take the deposition, run the reconstruction and testify as the expert. You decide who does it, and you hold them to it. Our job is telling you when they're not.
What we are
- On the firm's side of the table.
- The judgment about what should be built, and by whom.
- One person watching every vendor, reporting to you.
- The advisor who can recommend replacing a partner and does.
What we are not
- Not an agency. We don’t run the ads.
- Not a CMO-for-hire.
- Not a lead seller or a martech vendor.
- Not a builder of funnels.
How it works
Same process, with a custom playbook. We observe, guide the build, then advise the run, in that order, every time. Your playbook is customized to your firm. You’d never write a demand letter before reading the file. A roadmap written before the firm is understood is a sales pitch, not advice.
Diagnose the firm
Four days on site where we review technology, systems, intake, process, people and spend. The written diagnostic and prioritized roadmap follows, walked through live. The firm keeps it, either way.
Install the system
We source and screen every recommended partner against approved criteria, tell you which terms to push for and what the market actually pays, and stay on the calls while the systems get connected.
Advise and optimize
Blackletter becomes the firm’s ongoing marketing advisor: vendor oversight, performance reporting, strategy, quarterly business reviews and market intelligence.
No long-term commitment.
Monthly engagements, cancel anytime. Your clients can fire you anytime; it keeps you honest. Same way over here.
Exhibit A
One firm’s numbers, before and after.
Plantiff Firm - Tampa
The problem
- Intakes and signed cases declining; cost per case climbing.
- Heavy TV and billboard spend, underperforming and unaccountable.
- Outdated systems, and an intake process leaking cases it never counted.
- Reporting nobody trusted, built on data nobody kept.
The engagement
- New case management, lead management, and client-communication stack.
- Spend moved from traditional media to digital media, deliberately, not overnight.
- New intake workflows, scripts, and automated follow-up sequencing.
- Historical data backfilled until the reporting could be believed.
Results · two years
More cases on less spend, the two numbers that matter, moving in opposite directions.
The rest we didn’t chart: smoother operations, clients who stopped calling to ask what was happening, a team that stopped burning out.
A single engagement, reported as measured. No composite, no rounding.
Who we work with
You decline cases that aren’t a fit, not because they don’t matter, but because you can’t do right by your clients if you take every case. We do the same.
Enough scale that a growth system compounds rather than strains the firm.
The economics that make disciplined acquisition worth doing properly.
Real volume: the intake and follow-up problems are measurable.
And a certain kind of firm
Burned before
You've paid for an agency that overpromised, and you're not looking to repeat it.
Trust is the problem
You can’t tell which vendor is telling the truth, and you're tired of guessing.
Ready to scale
Your caseload is proven or on the path. What’s missing is the system to grow it deliberately.
Willing to act
You act. Advice nobody implements isn’t worth giving.
Tech-forward
You'll adopt the platforms the roadmap calls for to help you scale.
The founder
Brian Leonard
Founder
I’ve spent almost twenty years inside the machine: building marketing teams from nothing, one of five peer-elected members of Marriott's e-commerce franchise advisory board, to sitting on the agency side, seeing how millions of dollars of other people’s money gets treated.
For the last ten years I’ve advised small businesses. Here’s what those years taught me: few small businesses get taken advantage of more than a personal injury law firm. Everyone knows you take thirty-three and third and didn't go to business school. You get a vendor pitch in your inbox every hour, and have a feed full of agencies trying to get their slice and they're full of talk cheaper than an insurance adjuster’s first settlement offer.
Our founding principle
You’ve spent your career standing between people and the ones who’d take advantage of them.
Nobody stands there for you.
That's the entire reason Blackletter exists. Not to sell you marketing, to stand where you’ve always stood for everyone else.
You’ve made it this far, now it's time to see if we’re a fit
You screen your cases before you take them.
Eight questions, about two minutes. Tell us how the firm is built and where the money goes, and we’ll come to the first conversation already understanding your situation.
Are you a fit?
